WPRS General Surgery offers training for the Next Generation.
At WPRS, we prioritise the pivotal role of learners in delivering exceptional clinical care. We are delighted to regularly host medical students and junior doctors at our facilities . Dr Wiggett, with expertise in breast cancer, vascular, and endocrine surgery, offers a diverse spectrum of general surgical care.
He actively involves Deakin University medical students and general surgery registrars in his clinics, providing a rich learning environment. Students gain valuable exposure to diverse patient presentations and management approaches.
Dr Wiggett also offers students exposure to the South Coast Vein Institute to learn about surgical and non-surgical techniques for varicose veins, such as sclerotherapy, radiofrequency ablation and micro-phlebectomy. This first hand experience in private healthcare settings is invaluable for their professional growth.
Training future doctors is crucial for maintaining high-quality healthcare standards and collaborating with the upcoming generation ensures a healthier community.
This month we also extend our congratulations to Jane Perry, Sonographer at South Coast Vein Institute, for her George Golding Memorial Trust Scholarship win. Jane is currently studying medicine at Deakin University. Her dedication to transitioning from medical imaging to rural medicine is commendable, and we look forward to witnessing her future impact as a doctor!
