Our WPRS Hand Therapy team is growing.
WPRS is proud to have recently welcomed two Occupational Therapists to our Hand Therapy team, Ms Kate Bruce and Mr Fawwaz Ismail.
Kate graduated with a Master of Occupational Therapy from the University of Sydney in 2019 and has since acquired experience in the Hand Therapy field. In Melbourne, she worked across private and public tertiary settings in Hand Therapy, including the Austin Hospital (Heidelberg) and Peninsula Hand Therapy (Mornington).
This month Kate started consulting weekly on Fridays at Gen Health Hamilton. All bookings related to this service will continue to be made through our clinic in Warrnambool on 035562 5330.
Fawwaz graduated as an Occupational therapist from AUT (Auckland University of Technology), New Zealand in 2015. He started his journey to hand therapy in 2017 and attained the Registered Hand Therapist qualification (New Zealand) in 2020. Prior to hand therapy, Fawwaz worked with patients with traumatic brain injuries and elder health. In search of new adventures, Fawwaz joined WPRS Warrnambool in July 2023. In the five years of hand therapy experience, he has gained extensive knowledge in the management of acute and non-acute injuries.
Our hand therapist are based at WPRS and work closely alongside our surgeons to deliver specialised Hand Therapy services at both Warrnambool and Hamilton sites. They adopt an evidence-based and client-centred approach and their collaboration with our surgeons and clinical nurses ensure we provide the highest level of care.
Offering treatment for a wide variety of upper limb conditions and injuries. Including but is not limited to the following:
· Customised thermoplastic splinting
· Post-operative rehabilitation
· Acute trauma / Fracture management
· Sporting injuries: Ligament injuries and dislocations
